James Doherty 1892-1965
son of Thomas(Tam) & Margaret.
Married, Bridget McGarrity 1890 -1980, Westport. Co Mayo.
They are buried in Old Dalnottar Cemetery, Dalmuir, Scotland.

In March 1941, during German bombing raids, known as the "Clyde Blitz", their house in Clydebank and all of their belongings were destroyed.
James was left with only his working clothes and daughter Rosemary, had only the school uniform, of Notre Dame School, Dumbarton, which she was wearing. They had a lucky escape because more than 2000 people were killed in Clydebank during one night of the bombing raids.

Rosemary Macdonald died 23rd January 2001. Her grave is in North Dalnottar cemetery, at the foot of the Old Kilpatrick Hills, Dalmuir, Scotland.

Peter Doherty 1909-1984
son of Thomas (Tam) & Margaret.

Peter served in the Royal Navy. During World War Two he was a crew member of the Corvette, HMS Geranium, which made four dangerous trips to Murmansk, the Soviet Union’s chief Port on the Arctic Oceon.
16th October 1941 the ship was torpedoed off Murmansk and he was rescued from the water.
He was a crew member of HMS Duke of York, when the surrender of Japan was signed on board in Tokyo Bay, 2nd September 1945.
He was on the Suez Canal in 1956 when Egypt took it over by force.
His favourite Whisky was
"Glenmorangie".

John was a seaman in the Merchant Navy.
He was unmarried and always spent his summer holidays at home in Legland, Rathmullan.
He is buried in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.
